NEVER BEEN MORE SINGLE presents a Comedy Night hosted by Tricia Auld featuring Corey Rodrigues, Dave Russo, Maya Manion, Dan Boulger, Kim DeShields
Dan Boulger began his comedy career in late 2004 only one week into his freshman year of college. Quickly becoming a favorite in the New England area Boulger started performing nationally after winning the Boston Comedy Festival in 2006 at the age of 20. He has since received recognition from both audiences and industry alike having performed on Comedy Central, The BBC, and the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, and most recently has made multiple appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. Due to his age he is an ideal college performer and has appeared on several high profile college tours such as the Comedy Central Live and College Humor Live tours and has been able to be the supporting act for many famous comedians including Bill Burr, Louis CK and Zach Galifianakis.
For the past few years, Corey Rodrigues has been racking up comedy competition victories around New England. Once you see him onstage you’ll see why. Corey’s conversational storytelling tone puts audience members at ease and then, when their guard is down, he pummels them with punch lines. Rodrigues combines comedy from his own life and the lives of those around him. Mix that with a hilarious point of view and he’s able to talk about anything.
Within his first year of performing stand-up, he led his own show at Boston’s well-known Beantown Comedy Vault where he started Wicked Wednesdays. In 2008 he was the winner of the Catch a New Rising Star comedy competition. In 2009 he was a semi-finalist in the New York Comedy Contest. He played a major role in R&B singer Samson’s music video, appeared in a pair of Sam Adams Commercials and a variety of cable television shows. In 2010 and 11 Corey was a semi-finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival and was the winner of The Funniest Comic in New England Contest.
Recently named “Best Male Comic” in the city by the Boston Examiner, Dave Russo has been a mainstay of Boston comedy for the last fifteen years.
As co-host of NESN’s Dirty Water TV, he produces a regular comedy series, in addition to reporting on the best of Boston night life. He has appeared on The E! TV series “The Entertainer”, NBC’s “The Today Show,” FOX 25 with Gene Lavanchy, “The Phantom Gourmet,” and was hand selected by the producer of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” to perform on NESN’s Comedy All-Stars. Dave was recently featured on BostonGlobe.com’s “Boston, A Comedy Capital” panel, where he participated in a discussion of the history and future of Boston comedy. You can hear him every Friday on 980 WCAP.
Dave performs regularly for the troops, appearing with the U.S.O. at shows all over the country. He is also heavily involved and supports many local charities. Dave has performed on Denis Leary’s annual “Comics Come Home” to benefit The Neely House. He has played softball alongside Boston Bruin Milan Lucic at his annual Rock & Jock Celebrity Softball game raising money for the Celebrities for Charity Foundation.
