Tony Award Winner Eve Ensler’s “The Good Body” presented by Hub Theatre Company of Boston
In this forthright, frank and funny show, Eve Ensler – author of the international sensation The Vagina Monologues – examines the complex relationship between women’s minds and bodies as they struggle to fit into society’s narrow definition of beauty. With sympathy and empathy, the play explores the all too familiar body image battle females from middle school through menopause face on a daily basis. Using the voices of women from across a variety of cultures and ages, the playwright encourages each of us to love who we are and embrace our own “good body.” Local favorite Lindsay Eagle directs some of Boston’s finest actresses, including Julia Alvarez, Lauren Elias, W Laurie Ewer, Paola M. Ferrer, Sanaa Kazi, Sally Nutt and Regine Vital in a riotous contemplation of botox, bikinis and everything in between. This profoundly satisfying piece of theatre will leave you hungry for a good meal and great conversation.
