We have enjoyed many subgenera of dance music in the mainstream, especially over the past 2 years, but are you ready to hear the rich offerings of the underground? Oeuvre Course – Achaziyah has you covered, and they’re coming with a big dose of delicious dance music in this never-before seen show, in which singing, rapping, trumpet playing, beatmaking, live sequencing and dancing will yield a high amount of joy and second-hand inspiration. You’ll learn some peak pleasures of life, like sipping a juicebox on a yacht, learn what “ovah” means, and you’ll see first hand how important dosin’ oxytocin is to regulate your personality and keep your dreams close while you achieve them. Most importantly, you’ll leave with a fuller heart and a revitalized toolbox with which to build more life, community, happiness and ethical autonomy.
Achaziyah’s oeuvre courses through 13 years of original music, and remixes of powerhouse artists like Basement Jaxx, Beyoncé, Cher, Madonna, Robert Babicz, and even themselves. Their sample-based work draws from a rich cultural zeitgeist, pulling from hit TV shows like Scandal, and Flava of Love, video games like Super Mario Bros., music ranging from Bebel, Astrud & João Gilberto to that of Khia, Whitney Houston, The Pointer Sisters, and many more sounds that span musical genres, time periods and cultures.
His futurist approach to sampling and remixing sounds requires a reimagination through which he often critiques the lack of imagination represented in mainstream music. Achazi exerts fervent imagination that flexes his expansive sonic palette built by their experiences — a lifelong commitment to exploration and growth, which feeds his potent empathetic engine. Her productions consistently exhibit masterful songwriting, lyrical delivery, rich, emotional melodies, and lush soundscapes glueing together rhythms that encourage the nastiest contortions of the waistline.
