Named Improper Bostonian Best Cabaret Act 2005, Independent Reviewers of New England Best Female Cabaret Artist 2002, Bay Windows Best Cabaret Performer 2002, Jan is a Eugene O’Neill Cabaret Symposium Fellow whose work draws from an extensive repertoire of popular Broadway and standard songs

Chicago native Toni Ballard, who is profiled in jazz writer Scott Yanow’s book Jazz Singers: The Ultimate Guide, has been singing in New England since the early ‘80s. As a big band singer, she’s performed with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, the Boston Big Band, the White Heat Swing Orchestra, the Silver Bullet Swing Orchestra and the Ryles Jazz Orchestra. Her CD I’m Your Pal features bassist Harvie S and special guest Larry Coryell on guitar.
