The Ladies Who Brunch at Club Café, Boston’s popular Sunday divertissement, returns on October 4. Come and indulge yourself in a feast for your senses with cabaret artists Barb Pierre, Meryl Galaid and Simone Alyse (Salyse). Sit back with one of our classic cocktails and be regaled with soaring melodies and brilliant comedy while dining from our a la carte menu featuring traditional brunch entrees as well as lighter fare like fruit bowls, salads, and appetizers. Food and beverages not included in the ticket price.
Barbara Pierre is a Boston-based performer, educator, and arts advocate whose work lives at the intersection of musical storytelling and community connection. Whether standing center stage with a microphone or bringing a character to life in musical theatre, she is passionate about using her voice to tell stories that move, connect, and inspire audiences. Beyond the stage, Barbara is a curator and community builder, co-leading Spotlight, Sound & Stage and The Juke, initiatives dedicated to elevating local artists and bringing vibrant, accessible live performance experiences to communities throughout Boston. Barbara’s musical influences include Billie Holiday, Eva Cassidy, Heather Headley, Mahalia Jackson, Lauryn Hill, and Beyoncé, whose artistry continues to shape her approach to storytelling, vocal expression, and performance. Her stage credits include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray , Minola McKnight in Parade, Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street, and Mama Morton in Chicago ). Additional credits include Brenda in Smokey Joe’s Cafe, The Dragon in Shrek, and Sebastian in The Little Mermaid with Needham Community Theatre, where she received the 2019 DASH Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Barbara’s next stage appearance will be Minola McKnight in Parade with Newton Theatre Company, running September 26–October 10. Barbara is delighted to join this talented group of artists for The Ladies Who Brunch and hopes you’ll sit back, sip something delicious, and enjoy a brunch filled with music and joy.
Meryl Galaid, is a New England based singer, actress, and pianist. She has performed in and around the Boston area at Reagle Music Theater, Wheelock Family Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Company, The Umbrella Stage Company, The Regent Theater, and The Seacoast Repertory Theater in Portsmouth, NH. Favorite roles include: Prudy Pingleton/Female Authority Figure, (HAIRSPRAY), Emma Goldman (RAGTIME),Fraulein Schneider (CABARET), Mrs. Paroo (The Music Man), Sally Slaton (PARADE), Baruska (ONCE), Jennyanydots (CATS), Mrs. Beauregard (WONKA) General Cartwright (GUYS & DOLLS), Grandma (Billy Elliot) and, Peter in (PETER PAN). Whether singing behind the piano or behind the mic, Meryl’s One-Woman Cabaret show features the music of Garland, Minnelli, Streisand and more. She has been seen up and down the east coast as well as supper clubs, piano bars, and restaurants in the Boston area. Including, Club Cafe!
Simone Alyse (Salyse) is a Boston-based singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress whose work blends soul, R&B, jazz, pop, and musical theatre with storytelling at the center. A graduate of Emory University with a degree in African American Studies and a former student at Berklee College of Music, she has performed on stages throughout the East Coast, most recently portraying Coretta Scott King in Stokely & Martin and appearing in Hairspray at The Umbrella Arts Center. As a recording artist, Simone performs under the name Salyse, creating music that fuses soulful vocals with contemporary grooves and has connected with audiences through live performances and original releases. Whether onstage in a musical or behind the microphone with her own songs, she is passionate about creating moments that foster joy, vulnerability, and connection through music.
